I love my Unison pastels. They are soft and buttery and such vibrant colours. I never buy any other. They are worth every penny. Opening the trays of Unison's at my local art shop makes my mouth water, they are so beautiful

The Unison Colour Pastel Academy 5 Day Challenge: Explore An Evocative Evening Sky with Sandra Orme was my first try at Unison pastels, and the Pastel Academy. I'm equally delighted with both these lovely soft pastels and the calibre of the Challenge--which indeed pushed me to go farther with this beautiful medium. I learned a lot over the 5 days and am grateful to Unison Colour for making this instruction available; and, importantly, for the opportunity to learn from such an accomplished artist as Sandra. I now have a lovely painting to remember this experience--

Unison make beautiful pastels and to enable people to use them in a more effective way do 5 day challenges, just 10 minutes a day with a pastel artist. This is such a great thing to do. You learn lots and get to meet online, other people with the same interests. I’ve done two of these workshops now and both artists were friendly and helpful. Well done Unison!

Unison pastels come in such a huge range of vibrant colours. I chose them initially because they are British made having previously tried other brands originating elsewhere. I soon fell in love with them. I am a beginner but I find them easy to use and their layering qualities are much greater than others I have tried. Turn round time on orders is quick and the products are well packaged.
The Unison community of users and artists is very friendly and so helpful and supportive of a beginner like me. The pictures below show the vibrancy of the colours.
Unisons 5 day challenges are amazing. They are hosted by unison associate artists and are completely free. I have completed several. You learn lots of new techniques and get to be part of an amazing community of artists. Thank you Unison.

I initially purchased the hand drawn colour chart so that I could try and match my pastels (of varying makes) already having a few unison pastels I decided to also purchase the set for The Haven 1 day course after completing the 5 day Durdle Door challenge, which I really enjoyed. Just love these pastels as they are so soft and creamy and blend really well. A great course with excellent tutor Nina Squires and Dan and the Unison team. Very professional with excellent handouts and all questions answered in the Q&A's.
Can't recommend them enough to anyone to try these courses they are brilliant and with unison and the fb community with you all the way encouraging each other, it really gives everyone a boost.

I thoroughly enjoyed the 5 day challenge and learnt some new skills as well as having the opportunity to practise and get feedback from the tutor, Nina Squires, whose daily tutorials were well paced and sensibly took one step at a time which encouraged me to take my time and not rush. I am quite pleased with the result and hope to do more pastel painting in future.
I've also got a wish list of pastels and paper!

This was the first experience I had of online tutoring, and found the whole experience wonderful. Firstly it made me set to each morning to watch the video and follow up with the program, making myself work every day was really positive. Because I am on the other side of the world I was not able to do the sessions live, a matter of the difference between day and night, but there was so much information given it was not hard to follow the whole process and the tutor was a wonderful teacher, explaining each step of the journey, though encouraging everyone to do their own thing, to make each work individual.
Rebecca spoke so well about what she was doing, she was knowledgeable and informative. I would like to thank her and Unison Colour for the free whole experience.

Really enjoyed the recent workshop with Nina Squire. I liked the way the course was over the 5 days. It can be quite daunting trying to complete everything in one session. The reference sheets were excellent and tips on papers and the different types of pastels was very informative. Learnt a lot and was happy with what I produced. An excellent experience. Thank you Unison and Nina.

I’ve just completed a free five day challenge with Unison and Nina Squires, pastel artist and it was brilliant. Beautiful photo to work from and short videos to start us off each day. Lovely group with lots of supportive comments. I was really pleased with the first seascape I’ve ever done and loved the methods used. Q and A every evening too. Have signed up to Nina’s next workshop and ordered the pastels to have the correct colours. Thank you to Unison and Nina for offering this.

I've just completed my first Unison colour 5 day pastel challenge which was 'Old Harry Rocks' with Nina Squires. I loved the subject, and the support, which felt personal and was amazing. I dabbled a little with oils, watercolour, oil pastels and soft pastels, with a beginner artist set during lockdown last year, and liked soft pastels the least!! After this week, I love them! Thank you so much Unison colour and Nina, can't wait for the next workshop. I thoroughly recommend anyone with an interest in painting to give this a try!
